Marcolini Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Meissen during the Marcolini period around 1790. Both the cup and saucer have a hand painted large bird scene to them including three birds in a landscape surrounding as well as three insects and a nice gold trim. The cup has two bugs to the outside and one on the bottom inside while the saucer has all three around the outside of the scene. Intertwined branch handle to the cup highlighted with gilding. Really nice quality scenes! The set is in great condition with a touch of gold wear to the trim mainly to one area on the edge of the saucer as shown. No other issues such as restorations, chips, hairlines, etc. The saucer is just under 1.25 inches tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. The cup is 1.875 inch tall and 3.25 inches in diameter. Both pieces are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the star between the bottom used during the Marcolini period. Also the usual impressed numbers, etc. as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
