Blanc de Chine Couple Figurine

This is a nice blanc de chine figurine of a couple made by Meissen in the late 18th century. Left in the white to show off all that incredible detail! The figure is of a lady sitting on some rocks with a bird cage on her lap and a tiny bird in her left hand. A gentleman is standing next to her holding a basket of flowers in his left hand and handing some flowers in his right hand to the lady. In the back there is a smalltree stump the lady's arm is resting on with one branch with leaves coming out of it that is holding a hat full of flowers. Typical relief trim for this period to the base edge all around. The piece displays superbly but obviously has some issues with all these fine details. The figures are fine but two of the feathers in her hat are chipped off, the bow that keeps his hair in a pony tail has some minor damage, some normal and suprisingly minor damage to the flowers, the leaves and one branch end of the tree in the back is damaged, a small firing crack next to the tree stump and some larger ones to the underside as shown one of which turned into a hairline on the front center of the base that is very hard to spot. Sounds way worse than it is and the piece looks really nice on display! The figure is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords with the star underneath with one cut across it denoting it being a second choice piece. Also impressed model number G22. A really nice figurine! The piece is 7.75 inches tall, 6.25 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
