Marcolini Cobalt Blue, Gold & Scenic Saucer

This is a great saucer made by Meissen during the Marcolini period of the later 18th century. It is hand painted in the center with a lady dressed in a blue outfit holding a basket full of flowers over her head and a bottle in her arm. A putto besides her holding up a small branch. The scene is done in tiny dots which one rarely sees. I forget the name of this style but it was only used for a short period. The scene is surroudned by a nice gold trim with flowers and leaves and some tooled details. The rest of the piece has a superb cobalt blue ground color to it with a ncie gold trim along the edge. Really nice looking dish! The saucer is in good condition with a small chip to the edge as shown gilded over to hide it better. It's not super obvious and displays nicely but could be perfected by a good restorer if need be. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.25 inches. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords with the star under it mark underneath as shown as well as a blue 4, a black 6. as a painter's mark, a gilder's mark and some impressed marks.
