Reticulated Basket

This is a fruit basket made by Meissen during the Marcolini period. It is heavily reticulated, has applied flowers and vines and is handpainted with floral arrangements as well as some pink and gold trim. The basket is marked underneath with the blue underglaze crossed swords with the star under it as well as the number 11 and a puce line. The basket is in superb condition considering all the detail and age. It has six minor chips to leaves, 9 minor chips to flower petals and all four branch feet have minor chips to the very tip. None of these are obvious at all and it displays perfectly! The piece is 4.5 inches tall, 11.75 inches wide including the handles and 8 inches deep.
