Early Reticulated Basket

This is a nice early reticulated basket made by Meissen during the mid 18th century likely right around 1740. The piece is superbly modeled with a reticulated design all around that lots of extra detail to the outside as well as gold highlights and a had painted floral design to both the front and the back and a grape vine leaf / garland design to the sides that was often used during this period and a bit earlier. The grape vines are painted with superb detail including the veins on each leaf and each leaf is painted differently with not just green but also some yellow or orange. A stunning basket in almost perfect condition besides the occasional chip to a leaf as shown. The basket is marked underneath with the blue under glaze crossed swords mark as shown - an early version as well as an udner glaze blue B and a 30. marks of people that worked on the piece and were used during this period. The piece is 3.75 inches tall, 9.75 incheslong and 7.375 inches wide. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
