Seamstress Figurine

This is a nice figurine made by Meissen in about 1746. A very early example for their figure work! It is of a Dutch peasant girl sitting and sewing. Nicely modeled with the thread and needle detail being amazing. She is wearing a long dress with an apron with a floral design to it. A band in her hair. Sitting on a yellow pillow with tassels to the corners. The figure is in superb condition with just a little wear. As nice as they come! The piece is quite heavy for its size - typical of these early pieces. She is 4.375 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 3.25 inches deep. The figure is unmarked but obviously Meissen from this period. One can find a few examples of this model online. The flat base underneath typical of these early pieces with a hole in it. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
