Small Snuff Box Lid

This is a superb lid for a small snuff / patch /pill box made by Meissen around 1750. The round porcelain piece is hand painted with a superb scene to the top inclduing a couple and a young child in a landscape surrounding with some colorful scrolls and flowers underneath the scene. The underside of the lid has another scene including three adults in a landscape surrounding with a column behind them and a building in the distance. Really top quaility piece! The mounts are gold color but I think the lid part was just gold washed though I am not sure. Obviously the box part is missing but any decent jeweller could make a silver or gold one for it and you'd have a really nice piece with a superb lid! The mounts are all there already which is the hard part. The porcelain is in great condition and the mounts are fine as well. A little dirty and could use a polish or cleaning. The lid is not marked which is normal. The entire lid part with the mounts on the edge is about 1.75 inches in diameter. The mounts that would go ontoa bod have a diameter of just a touch over that. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
