Yellow Ground Floral Saucer

This is an early saucer set made by Meissen in about 1745. The saucer is nicely hand painted with one larger floral arrangement as well as somer smaller flowers scattered throughout with a gold trim to the rim. The flowers are still influenced by the woodcut style so definitely 1750 or earlier but not before 1740 since there is an impressed number to the underside. My favorite part is the underside of the saucer is painted with a yellow ground color which is very nice! The piece is marked with an early version of the blue crossed swords underneath as well as an impressed number. The saucer is in superb condition with with some very minor wear and one spot where the color has flaked off a leaf. The yellow ground on the udnerside has a spot by the edge that disn't take so they painted a pink flower over it to hide it - quite typical for this period! The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
