Simple Harbor Scene Saucer

This is a nice saucer made by Meissen in the mid 18th century. A bit rough to call it simple since the scene is superb and amazingly detailed but usually these harbor / merchant type scenes have so much fancy gilding around it that it is refreshing to see just a simple gold trim to the edge. A stunning piece for sure! The scene in the center is quite large with lots of buildings and two large ships as well as a small boat and off course the merchants going about their business and some of their wares. It even has a large statue in the center. Top quality painting and more detail than many! The piece is in superb condition with just a minor touch of wear only visible under magnification. Mainly to the head of the one merchant. The dish is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.25 inches. The saucer is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as an impressed number as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
