Mid 18thC Floral Plate w/Puce Scale Trim #3

This is a fun plate made by Meissen in the mid 18th century. It has three puce scale design areas along the rim with yellow scrolls with black highlights below from which polychrome floral garlands are hanging. Between these designs is an area of pink ground on a light relief design with a single flower below. Gilding to a relief scroll going into the well of the plate between these two designs. In the center there is a large hand painted floral arrangement using the style and colors of this period. Probably 1755-1760. The puce scale design looks amazing and makes this plate very elegant and decorative! The nicely shaped edge has a gold trim to it. A great looking plate that is a bit different from most ones sees from this period. The plate is in great condition without any chips or restorations. It has some of the usual impurities, etc. from this period including areas ground down and glazed to hide black firing specs. The gold lines on the relief scroll going into the plate are interrupted. There is gilding on the rim part and the well part but in between there is none. I am not sure if this is by design or because of stacking wear. There are signs of wear to the relief part of these scrolls just not sure if there was ever any gilding over that. Either way it is very even and does not distract! There is a chip to the foot ring from when it was made with glaze to itI happen to have two more plates from this set if anyone is interested in a rare pair just let me know! The dish is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath and the usual impressed number one finds on Meissen of this period as shown. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.5 inches in diameter which is a very nice size. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
