Miniature Strawflower Teapot

This is a rare early miniature teapot made by Meissen in about 1735. It is in great condition with a hairline on the top of the handle where it attached to the body and a restored chip to the bottom of the spout. The pot is handpainted with the very old blue when Meissen still had issues with the color and the paste has a relief design to it. The old blue had an odd sheen to it when held at the right angle to the light which I tried to show in a picture. Marked with the straight blue crossed swords to the bottom with the lines at the ends and a dot below (not between like the 1760's mark!). There is also a painters mark to the footring but I cannot make it out and the number 30 in underglaze blue. Also an X incised and a 3 (?). The pot is 3 inches tall, 3.125 inches wide and 5.375 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
