Monkey Band Piano Player Figurine

This is a fun figurine of a piano player from the monkey band series made by Meissen in the alter 20th century. A very well executed figurine of a popular topic. Very well modeled and hand painted perfectly. It is a really nice example and in perfect condition which is not all that common for this model! The one monkey is sitting on top of another monkey that is on all fours with the piano in the front. The piano player is wearing a wig and is nicely dressed while the other monkey just has fur painted on it. All on a nice base with some nice gold scrolls all around. It's a great looking figure and one of the main ones from this series. Quite hard to find! The figurine is just over 5 inches tall, 2.125 inches wide and 3.75 inches long. This piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as the unsual impressed numbers and a painter's mark as shown. These figures from this band are so much fun to look at and the monkey band players are some of the most collected figures in porcelain even today.
