Fancy Reticulated Basket

This is a fancy reticulated basket made by Meissen in the late 19th or early 20th century. This is a rare model and not one sees often by any means. Not sure why since it is a very elegant piece. The top rim is heavily reticulated with lots of detail to the outside that is highlighted with gilding and color. Some nice floral arrangement on each side with small flowers in between and a large floral arrangement in the bottom center with smaller flowers all around. Nice trim to the edges. Amazingly this basket is in perfect condition with just the tiniest bit of wear to the gilding. The piece is rather large being 4.625 inches tall, 11.125 inches wide and 9.375 inches deep. It is marked with the underglaze blue crossed sword mark underneath (yes first quality since people always ask but I would otherwise mention!) as well as the usual impressed and incised marks one find on Meissen of this period plus a possible painter's mark in black though it might just be a smudge since it is impossible to read. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
