Nice Knife w/ Silver Blade

This is an interesting knife with the porcelain handle made by Meissen in the 18th century and the blade being entirely made of silver as is the ferrule part. Not sure of the purpose of this knife as the blade is not sharp at all and it being made of silver and being thin and long makes it pretty flexible. The tip is rounded so not a letter opener either I don't think. So a bit of a mystery! Either way is is a superb piece with the handle a nice shape. The top part is flat and the sides are rounded coming to a point on the underside. The back is flat. The handle is hand painted with a floral garland that goes all around three times with the top and bottom end having a nice green groundwith black designs to it and puce and yellow scrolls to the edges. A great looking piece. The silver has this golden tone to it since it has not been polished and it makes it look even more elegant! The knife is 9.25 inches long of which just under 4 inches is the visible porcelain handle and 5 inches the blade. The porcelain is not marked or shall we say visibly marked since it would be hidden by the ferrule which is normal but it is definitely made by Meissen during this period. The silver is not marked either. The piece is in great condition with a few scuff marks to the blade and the porcelain handle is worn in two spots as well as the edge of the bottom end as shown. Still looks great! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
