Peacock Scene Plate

This is a great plate made by Meissen in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is hand painted with a superb peacock bird scene in the center including a male and two females in a landscape surrounding. The rim has one of their nicer fancy gold trims to it as well as five different bugs / insects. This type of gold trim is more common on cobalt ground pieces they made. The edge is a bit wavy rather than just plain round which adds a nice touch to the piece. It looks stunning on display! The plate is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers. It is about 1.25 inches tall and 8.25 inches in diameter. It is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
