Scenic Perfume Bottle

This is a rare treat - a scenic perfume bottle made by Meissen around 1750. I cannot recall ever having seen this model before but it is very nice. The piece is superbly modeled with a relief scroll design to the paste with the front and the back hand painted with a Teniers type scene. One scene appears to be of a family in front of their home while the other is of a lady and a gentleman possibly during a proposal with a bagpipe player to the side. The top is made of silver with a nice design to it with the stopper finial in the shape of a harp and it even still has the original chain to make sure the stopper isn't lost after all these years! The flakon is in superb condition with some very minor wear only visible under large magnification. The piece is marked with an impressed letter G only. The piece is about 2.875 inches tall, 1.5 inches wide and 0.875 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $2999
