Harlequin w/ Cat & Bird Figurine

This is a really superb figurine made by Meissen during the Pfeiffer period in the 1920s. It is a really fun figure of a harlequin sitting next to a bird cage while holding a bird in his one hand and with a cat sitting next to him on the nicely modeled base looking rather intently at the poor bird. The harlequin is dressed nicely with a colorful shirt and brown pants plus colorful shoes. Some applied flowers to the base and grasses painted on. All in all this is a very a fun figurine to look at! Off course this is copied from the mid 18th century Meissen original! The figurine is in superb condition with two firing flaws to the bird cage which is to be expected with that fine work but no real damage. The figure is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the dots between the tips as well as the usual impressed and incised marks as shown plus a painter's mark 8. in black. First quality! The figurine is about 5 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
