Russian Pierrot

This is a figurine of Pierrot from the Russian Ballet made by Meissen around 1915. It was designed by Paul Scheurich who is one of the most famous porcelain designers of the 20th century! It is handpainted quite elegantly and modelled superbly! The figurine is 7 inches tall, 7.75 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. The figure is in great condition with a small chip to the left sleeve end that is hard to spot and a thing chip to the end of a fold of his jacket on his left side. Neither takes away from the piece what so ever! Marked to the bottom with the underglaze crossed swords mark in blue as well as the incised model number D283. and an impressed 48.
