Pair of Pink Roses Salt / Pepper Shakers

This is a hard to find salt and pepper shaker pair made by Meissen in the 20th century. Each is hand painted with their famous pink rose flowers design with the large flower to the front including a blossom, a bud as well as its leaves and stem with two more single buds painted on the rest of the pieces as well as a single gold line as trim around the bottom and top. The pink rose design is off course extremely common but I have never seen a salt and pepper shaker from this set so it is a nice find! They each have a sterling silver top that screws off to fill the piece and back on to be ready for your table. They are both in excellent condition with heavy oxidation to the silver which off course is an easy fix if need be. A quick polishing would do the trick. Each shaker is marked underneath with a second quality (two lines cut across the swords - not sure why) under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as the usual impressed and painted marks as shown. The silver lids are marked as well with impressed marks including the number 835 for the silver - a typical mark from Germany and another mark I cannot make out probably for the silversmith. They measure 2.5 inches tall and 1.625 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $199
