Animal Scene Plate #1

This is a superb plate made by Meissen in the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is hand painted with a superb scene in the center of a male bird standing and a female bird lying down in a landscape surrounding. The birds look a bit like a goose but the male has some strange hair looking feathers grwoing out of its neck and the feet look different as well. No idea what kind of bird this is! The rim has three different bugs/insects painted on it and a gold trim to the nicely shaped edge. The plate is in perfect condition which is always a plus and marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers of this period. The piece is 1.375 inches tall and 9.875 inches in diameter. I have listed a few other matching plates with different animal scenes if anyone wants a pair of a set. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
