Amazing Pre 1740 Reticulated Plate

This is a rare treat - a Meissen plate made just prior to 1740 by Meissen. Only these really early pieces get this fancy and nice and it's not a style you really see much later anymore. The plate well is entirely done in a relief basket weave design with a scroll relief panel in the center with hand painted fruit, flowers and vegetables inside. The scrolls are highlighted with gilding. The entire rim of the plate is just amazing. It is fully reticulated with four panels of floral designs all hand painted with those amazing early colors and the space between the them is reticuated as well and each intersection has a purple forgetmenot type flower applied to it. The edge has holes pierced into it and a gold trim to it. Never seen this design before and it is stunning. Must have taken ages to make just this one plate which explains why you just don't see this type of work and quality very often at all even from the top maker. So fragile! The plate in superb condition with a bit of gold wear mainly to the center scroll area and the scrolls right under the flower designs and some hairline / firing cracks from when it was made in the reticulated areas and rim edge as shown. This is not later damage but from when it was made and completely normal on these very early pieces. A stunning plate you will likely never find again! The plate is 1.5 inches tall and 9.375 inches in diameter. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as shown no impressed number yet so nice and early!
