Pre 1740 Nice Kakiemon Plate

This is a nice porcelain plate made by Meissen before 1740. It is hand painted really nicely with one of their famous Kakiemon patterns in the colors of the period which are much nicer than the later ones. The paste also nicer than after 1750 as it has a creaminess to it that is hard to explain almost like soft paste. The rim has some three Kakiemon style floral designs to it as well as three bugs / butterflies and a brown trim to the nicely shaped edge. The center has a fancy Kakiemon design to it including some flowers growing out of what looks like a rock with a alrger bug above the design. A stunning looking piece! The plate is in great condition with some wear and use marks but still displays very well. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 8.75 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as shown - no impressed number yet since they were not used until 1740 or so. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
