Prunus Blossom Beaker & Saucer #1

This is a really nice early beaker type chocolate cup and saucer made by Meissen in about 1740. The set is decorated with the raised prunus blossom decoration on the underside of the saucer and around the sides of the cup and are otherwise left plain white to show of their porcelain - white was more treasured than painted back then! The handle of the cup is superb and a typical early shape! Both the cup & saucer are in great condition with a couple of minor inclusions to the inside bottom of the cup from when it was made. The cup is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords underneath as shown while the saucer is completely unmarked and might point to a nice and very early date or jsut a fluke. The saucer is 5.25 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. The cup is 2.75 inches tall and has a diameter 2.875 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
