Prunus Blossom Beaker

This is a really nice early beaker type chocolate cup made by Meissen just before 1740. The piece is decorated with the raised prunus blossom around the outside of the cup and was otherwise left plain white to show of their porcelain - white was more treasured than painted back then! The handle of the cup is superb and a typical early shape! The cup is in great condition with just a couple of inclusions to the inside bottom from when it was made. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords underneath - it does not have an impressed number yet just the letter D so it was made before 1740. The cup is 2.75 inches tall and has a diameter 2.75 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
