Purple Ground Saucer

This is an early saucer made by Meissen in about 1750. It is nicely handpainted with one larger floral arrangement on one side with some smaller scattered flowers here and there. Nice gold trim to the edge. The flowers are still show a bit of woodcut influence but are already the Deutsche Blumen style that came afterwards so the piece dates to pretty much 1750 plus or minus 5 years. The rare part of this piece is that underneath it has the purplish ground color which is very nice! The saucer is marked with the straight blue crossed swords underneath. The piece is in perfect condition. The yellow residue underneath is from one of those old hanging stickers which is gone but the glue remains. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.625 inches in diameter.
