Harlequin Figure with Bird & Cat Figurine

This is a very hard to find superb harlequin figure made by Meissen in the 20th century. Besides the one with the hare and dog this is probably the rarest of the harlequin models made by them and one of the nicest and more complicated ones as well. I do believe he was first designed by Eberlein but I could be wrong and it could have been Kaendler or even a collaboration which they did as well. The harlequin is holding a bird in his right hand while sitting on a rock base with a superb birdcage next to him and a cute little cat in front. There are a couple of flowers on the base in front of him. The harlequin is wearing corwn pants, yellow shoes, a nice hat and that superb top with the typical colorful design to it. All in all an amazing piece that just speaks to you! The figurine is in perfect condition which always helps. The piece is 5.5 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. It is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath the base as well as the usual impressed numbers of the period and a painter's number 17 in red.
