Kid's Lamp Base

This is a really nice figurine of a young girl and boy made by Meissen in the mid 20th century. The girl is wearing a yellow dress with a pattern to it and sitting down on the marbled base reading a book. The boy is wearing a blue jacket and brown shorts with a fun pattern to them and standing behind the girl trying to take a peak at the book. He is holding onto a column in the middle of the marbled base that has a simple shape to it with a gold ring around the top. Behind the colum there is a doll leaning against it with a small colorful ball next to it. It is a really nice figure and was likely meant to be a lamp base as the column has a hole in the center. Could also be used as a candle stick base if you add a nice bronze candleholder. or use a small diameter candle as is since the holde has a diameter of just over 0.5 inches. The piece is superbly modeled and painted as only a Meissen painter could do :) It is a very interesting piece as this model was never brought into production but is a model an independent artist made to showcase his talent and hope it is selected for production which is apparently never was. I had one other piece like this once before that was marked the same way without a model number but with the word Original impressed on the underside and this piece here came with another one that is marked the same way and also on the site right now. It was certainly made by Meissen as the paste is correct and the painting is as well. The quality is top notch and it truly is a one of a kind which is quite rare in the world of porcelain! The piece has an under glaze blue crossed swords mark to it as well besides the original word. The side of the base is incised H. Stolz Meissen as shown. The other piece I ahve up right now has the year 1948 incised so these were made right after the war and it might explain why this superb piece never made it into production! Quite interesting really! No one can copy the Meissen quality so there is no question that this piece is indeed that! The figurine is in perfect condition. It is 5.375 inches tall and the base has a diameter of about 4 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
