Blue Onion Square Dish

This is a small square serving dish made by Meissen in the 19th century before they added the crossed swords to the bottom of the stalk part of the decoration. The piece is decorated with their famous blue onion design to the inside and the rim has a ncie shape to it. The dish displays nicely but there is a flaw to one of the corners. I cannot tell if this happened when it was made or if it was a small chip that was ground smooth but I think it happened when it was made by the look of it. Either way it is not obvious when in use at all. Likely the reason why it was deemed a second choice piece! The dish is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords (two cuts across them denoting it being a second choice piece) as well as a blue painter's number and some incised letters / numbers though they are hard to make out. The dish is 1.5 inches tall, 7 inches wide and just under 7 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $59
