Rare Reticulated Carriage

This is a fun and unusual piece made by Meissen in the mid 19th century. It is a carriage with reticulated sides and real working wheels. The inside bottom is handpainted with floral arrangements and single flowers in the mid 19th century style, the outside reticulated sides have forget me nots all over as well as gold trim and the pieces is trimmed in a turquoise, pink and gold design. I have not seen the carriage all by itself as usually there is a pair of figurines attached but it might have been a special order piece. A fun piece for sure since it rolls around on the wheels so you can use it on your dinner table to cart your wine bottle or such around :) The piece is in perfect condition with minor gold wear on the wheels. It is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as a 22. as a painter's mark as well as the usual incised numbers of the period. The carriage is 6.25 inches tall, 9 inches long and 4.5 inches wide. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1999
