Royal Court Dragon Plate #2

This is a very interesting porcelain plate made by Meissen. It is hand painted with the superb red Hofdrachen ( court dragon ) design that was until 1918 exclusively made for the Saxon Royal Court and afterwards this pattern was also by Adolf Hitler and the German High Command at Kehlsteinhaus ( Eagle's Nest ) by Berchtesgaden . While I cannot say with any certainty that this is from the Eagle's Nest, it is certainly interesting that is is marked with the letter A. It is definitely not a later piece so is either from the royal service or from the other one. So either way a very itneresting plate! In the Chinese culture the red dragon symbolizes prosperity, power and good feng-shui . One rarely sees a dish from this service for sale especially in good condition. This plate is here is in decent condition with a good amount of wear but it has no chips, etc. and still displays nicely. It was definitely used which means it was touched by many an interesting person! The plate is 1.375 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as the usual impressed numbers, a short blue line and that interesting black letter A.
