Sauciere

This is a rare sauce dish made by Meissen around 1750. It is handpainted with a floral arrangments at each end, lots of scattered flowers throughout the outside and inside, a brown trim to the edge and two nice branch handles ending in leaves with flowers painted in green. The flowers are already of the Deutsche Blumen style but the colors of the leaves and the way the rose was painted is indicative of being from around 1750 which fits the paste and mark. The little piece is in great condition with one handle having been off but it is almost impossible to spot. There is a little piece of glaze missing just above it which is why I investigated and found the reglued bottom part. Perfectly done and does not take away from the piece. The brown edge trim has flaked off a bit but that would be an easy fix if one wanted to get it done. Nice basket weave design to the top outside rim. The piece is 3 inches tall, 9.25 inches long and and 6.5 inches wide. Marked underneath with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
