Scenic, Floral & Cobalt Blue Bell

This is a superb bell made by Meissen in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is hand painted with an amazingly detailed scene of an Alpine landscape as well as two flower panels on white ground with the rest of the main body having a cobalt blue ground color highlighted with lots of fancy gilding. The handle is white with gold highlights and the bottom edge is also white with a nice gold trim and a bit of a relief design. The bell is in perfect condition with the clapper metal parts bent a bit which doesn't affect the piece at all. The bell is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords first choice and the scene title written in black - Aussicht vom grossen Winterberge - view from Grossen Winterberge which you can look up is all the way in the South East of Germany near the Czech border in the Saechsische Schweiz area. The bell is 3.75 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
