Bird Scene Cup & Saucer - As Is #2

This is a nice looking cup and saucer set made by Meissen in the early 19th century during the so called Schmierzeit of around 1820. Both pieces are hand painted with a polychrome large bird scene including two birds in a small landscape surrounding with three bugs filling in the rest of the space on the saucer and two bugs and a bird on the cup. Another bug on the bottom inside of the cup. Gold trim to the edges and the handle. The set displays perfectly but the saucer has been broken in half and was restored perfectly. Almost invisible but for the center underside ha yellowed a bit over time. Really an amazing job fixing that sort of damage! The saucer is just over 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.5 inches. The cup is 2.625 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.875 inches. Both are marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords of the Schmierzeit (a bit messy which is why they call it that) as shown. Impressed number 25 under the cup. None visible under the saucer because of the restoration. A great looking set even with the issue on the saucer. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $199
