Sly Fox Figurine

This is a really nice figurine of a fox made by Meissen in the early 20th century. You can just imagine it slinking through the forest the way this figure was modeled! It is a really nice figurine decorated in their rare under glaze colors from around 1900. It was designed by Paul Walther in 1907 and has the model number X 170. This figurine here being from the original period. A really nicely painted version of it with that Art Nouveau / Jugendstil feeling to it. The figurine is in superb condition! It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (first choice) as well as the model number, a painter's mark and another incised number as shown. Some sort of ground down area near the mark as shown - it was done at the factory to either smooth out a flaw or some sort of firing support. Probably the latter since it was deemed a first choice! The piece is 2.875 inches tall, 1.875 inches wide and 10 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
