Antique Porcelain & Fine Arts

Dish w/Gilded Fruit and Polychrome Flowers

This is a really cute bowl or small serving dish made by Meissen during the later 19th century. A smaller version of the much more common charger sized pieces. The bowl is decorated along the rim with a relief design of diferent fruit and their leaves in relief which were then fully gilded, a very fancy fully gilded relief scroll design along the edge that comes into the plate between the fruit designs and the part that makes it look so amazing - a nicely hand painted polychrome floral arrangement to the center. The combo of the relief design, shiny gold and polkychrome flowers looks amazing! A really stunning look! The piece is in superb condition with just a few stray tiny wear spots to the gilding you really have to hunt for to find. The dish is marked underneath with the under glaze blue swords mark as well as the usual impressed and artist's marks, etc. as shown. It is 1.5 inches tall and 9 inches in diameter. Price is $399
