Spilled Milk Goat Figurine

This is a fun figurine of a young goat made by Meissen in the early 20th century. The figure was originally modeled by Erich Hoesel in 1904 and this here is the very rare version with the painted base. The young goat was bad that day and spilled over its bowl of milk. The milk has spilled onto the base which you can see very nicely because of the painted base. Normally in 99.9% of these the base is white. The bowl is decorated with their straw flowers pattern in under glaze blue and even marked with the crossed swords mark in the center. The goat is standing on the over turned bowl with its front legs. The piece is superbly modeled and hand painted just enough to make it look amazing. The painted base makes it really look extra nice! The base is painted in the under glaze color used during this period. Really a nice looking figurine! The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark of the period (first choice) as well as an incised model number V108 with a b or G next to it and the number 1240 impressed over that. It is larger than most of the plain base models but not the largest version which is huge. The piece here is 5.75 inches tall, 4.875 inches long and 2.75 inches wide. ,The figurine is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
