Modern Blue Onion Tankard

This is a really nice mug / stein / tankard made by Meissen in the later 20th century. It is decorated with the famous blue onion / Zwiebelmuster design in under glaze blue with a nice relief design to the paste around the bottom edge. A matching design to the bottom terminal of the handle. Nice tapered shape to the tankard. Really a nice looking piece! Nice sized version as well! The piece is in perfect condition. it is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (first choice) as well as the usual impressed marks, etc. one finds on Meissen of this period as shown. The piece is 5.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter at the top and 4 inches at the bottom. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
