Strewn Flowers Peppermill

This is a peppermill made by Meissen in the 19th century. It is hand painted with lots of small single flowers and finished off with some gold trim. A very nice look for a ktichen gadget :) The pepper mill is in great condition with a tiny bit of wear to the gilding. The piece works very well - the smoothest of any of these I ahve ever handled and the brass top parts are also nicer than the steel ones you find most of the time. All the metal parts have some surface oxidation to them which is to be expected. Could use a bit of a polishing if one wanted to do that sort of thing. The pepper mill is 3.75 inches tall and 2.25 inches in diameter. Quite heavy due to the metal insides. Marked underneath with the under glaze crossed swords mark - first choice as shown and the painter's number 27. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
