Superb Child Bust Figurine

This is a great bust of a child made by Meissen during the Schmierzeit around 1820. The child is meant to be Prince Louis Charles of Bourbon. He was the younger son of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. A truly superb bust That has an amazingly well painted head covering with niceflowers and gilded relief design. The left side of his head has a blue bow with a small floral arrangement coming out iof it and a feather. This is heavily damaged which is the norm but a decent restorer could bring it back to perfection fairly easily. The bust is wearing a nice dress shirt with a fancy design to it and has a blue bow around its neck, One of the loops is damaged as shown. The base has a relief scroll design all around highlighted with gilding. There are two minor nibbles to the bottom base edge and a small chip to his white collar. Having said all that this is an amazing looking piece and once restored will be something very special! The figure is 8.75 inches tall, 6.75 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. The figurine is marked underneath with an incised number 72 as well as the blue crossed swords from the so called Schmierzeit of around 1820. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
