Superb German Shepherd Figurine

This is a superb figurine of a sitting German shepherd dog made by Meissen during the later 20th century. Originally modeled by Paul Walter in the early 20th century. It is one of the nicest version I have seen of this figure with the fur having the individual hairs painted on it and the shading just looking perfect and realistic. All hand painted off course. The rectangular plain base is perfect for this piece as it makes the dog figurine look even better. Impressed PW in the back corner of the base. The figurine is in perfect condition which is always nice! It is marked underneath with the under glazed blue crossed swords mark - first choice off course. Plus the usual impressed / incised numbers and letters one finds on Meissen of this period. The piece is 7 inches tall, 3.875 inches wide and just over 7 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
