Tea Light Holder

This is a fun piece of porcelain made by Meissen in the late 19th century. It is a lidded tealight holder for your teapot warmer or veilleuse - basically the carrying case for the little candle to keep your teapot warm. It is decorated with one of their under glaze blue flower and bug descorations with some gold highlights. The top of the lid even has a hole to keep the wick from bending when the lid is in place and it is not in use. Simple shape with a nice handle to one side. The main body of the tea light is marked underneath with the blue crossed swords mark as well as the usual impressed / incised numbers as shown. First quality. The dish and lid of the tea light holder are in perfect condition. The piece is about 1.5 inches tall with a diameter of 2.25 inches. The handle sticks out about 1.375 inches to one side.
