Large Blue Onion Tankard

This is a large mug / tankard made by Meissen in the 20th century. It is decorated with their famous blue onion / Zwiebelmuster design in under glaze blue all around as seen in the pictures. A great piece and perfect for your everyday mug. I use these types of pieces for my daily water drinks to make sure I drink enough water for the day. Easier than constantly filly a normal glass or cup. This piece was meant to have a lid but since it was deemed a third choice piece they did not bother completing it so it's just a simple tankard. Does have the holse in the handle for a lid. I also own the lidded version and have it on the site if you want to see what that looks like. The piece is in perfect condition with a firing flaw along the edge of the handle in the shape of tiny black firing spots. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (third choice) as well as the usual impressed marks, etc. one finds on Meissen of this period as shown. The tankard is 6.5 inches tall and 4.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $249
