Tischchenmuster Type Teapot Lid

This is a teapot lid made by Meissen in the 18th century. The design looks to be from the Tischchenmuster (little table pattern) series. It is hand painted with an Imari inspired design with two floral arrangements to either side coming out of a blue formation at the bottom. Nice pine cone finial with a touch of red highlights. Hole near the finial for venting typical to 18th century lids. The lid is in superb condition with a small chip to the underside ring invisible when placed into the teapot opening and a touch of wear to the finial. Unmarked which is typical for lids but there is not doubt it is by Meissen from the 18th century. The quality gives it away easily. The piece 1 inch tall and just under 1.75 inches in diameter. The outer diameter of the ring that would sit in the opening is a touch over 1.375 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
