Whippet / Greyhound Dog Figurine

This is a superb figurine of a whippet / greyhound dog made by Meissen during the Pfeiffer period of the 20th century between 1924 until 1934. This is not a model you see often at all. and it is superb! The modelling is amazing and it is hand painted in the rare under glaze colors Meissen used occasionally on these types of figures mostly during the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period. Look at all the detail in the modelling and hand painting! I especially love the collar around his neck. The coloration of the entire piece looks amazing! I think it was originally modlled by Paul Walther though I am not 100% sure of that part. Either way the figure is amazing and in perfect condition which is always a bonus. It is marked underneath with the blue crossed swords mark with the dot between the tops, the model number V186 and another impressed number as shown. The piece is 6.25 inches tall, just under 3 inches wide and 6.25 inches long. A really superb dog figurine - one of the nicest I have seen in a while. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
