Early Strawflower Chocolate Cup

This is a rare early chocolate cup made by Meissen pre 1750 likely around 1735. It is handpainted with a pattern called the strawflower design which was very popular back in the day and still is to this day. The piece is in great condition with some factory flaws in the form of black spots, firing flaws and glaze skips typical on these early pieces! One area on the inside wall of the cup where the glaze chipped off due to a factory flaw underneath likely still during the making or shortly thereafter! The outside has a ribbed design to the paste and the handle is a very early shape as well. The cup is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords with a blue 17 or E1 or something like this on the footring as the blue painters mark. The piece is 2.875 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.875 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
