Cancer Zodiac Figurine

This is a hard to find zodiac sign figurine of the sign Cancer made by Meissen in the 20th century. It was modeled by Heinrich Thein who modeled the entire set of these. They are superb! This one here has a putto standing on a base wearing his cape while holding a lobster in both hands. The lobster has a typical claw on the right side and a one pincher claw on the left. Not sure why but they are all like this. The piece is superbly modeled and hand painted perfectly as one would expect from the top maker. One does not come across the zodia pieces often especially in perfect condition! The figure is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (first choice) as well as the usual impressed marks as shown. It has the zodiac cancer symbol in the corner of his cape. The figurine is 4.75 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
