Chinoiserie Knife

This is a very rare large knife with the handle made by Mennecy around 1740. It is made of a creamy colored softpaste with a colorful Chinoiserie design. The blade is steel which is marked as shown. The knife is amazingly complete with the blade which isn't that common and the porcelain has no damage but there is a bit of wear to the design which is normal on softpaste porcelain like this. The blade has a bit of oxidation to it as shown and the silver collar has some minor dings. The piece that sticks out at the end of the handle has bent over as shown. The porcelain is unmarked which is the norm. The knife is 10.375 inches long of which the visible porcelain handle is about 3.625 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
