Egg Cup

This is little urn shaped egg cup made of biscuit porcelain by Mennecy in the 18th century. Really a cute piece that is made of soft paste porcelain which has a warmer white color to it and is much nicer than the hard paste pieces. The eggcup has a nice relief design all around and a handle on each side. The piece is in decent condition with the handles having been worked on. I assume they were larger and attached to the top rim but broke off and were made into these little ones. Looks nice and it displays nicely as well. Typical firing crack to the bottom inside. The base is marked underneath with the incised DVA mark as shown. The piece is 3.125 inches tall and about 2 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $249
