Pot de Creme #2

This is a really nice pot de creme or pot au jus made by Mennecy in the 18th century. This type of cup was used for hot chocolate or meat juices (like a strong broth) to drink. It is made of soft paste porcelain which has that creamy color to it and in combination of the enamel colors always looks stunning. Much nicer than hard paste porcelain! The main body and lid have a ribbed design to the paste and are hand painted with two polychrome floral arrangements as well as small single flowers, a puce trim to the handle of the cup and the lid has a little fruit finial with the stem and leaf. The piece is unmarked but unmistakably made by them during this period. The cup and lid are 3.125 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter with the handle sticking out about 0.75 inches. Green translucency to the paste. The set is in perfect condition and looks stunning! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
