Ribbed Design Floral Pot de Creme

This is a really nice pot de creme or pot au jus made by Mennecy in the 18th century. This type of cup was used for hot chocolate or meat juices (like a strong broth) to drink. It is made of soft paste porcelain which has that creamy color to it and in combination of the enamel colors always looks stunning. Much nicer than hard paste porcelain! The main body and lid have a ribbed design to the paste and are hand painted with polychrome flowers, a puce trim and the lid has a little fruit finial with the stem and leaf. The handle has a bit of puce trim to it as well. The piece is marked underneath with the incised D.V. mark as well as a letter P as shown. The cup and lid are 3.25 inches tall and 2.25 inches in diameter with the handle sticking out about 0.75 inches. The set is in perfect condition and looks stunning!
